Creative Born in May 27, 1900 in Dupont, Penn­syl­va­nia, a min­ing town, he moved to NYC in 1922 to study at the Pratt Insti­tute in Brook­lyn. He grad­u­ated in 1926 and later taught at Pratt from 1928 until 1933. He was famous for his cover arts, such as paint­ings appeared on the cov­ers of Thrilling Won­der Sto­ries, Wings, and War Birds,
